SOILWORK Frontman, EXES FOR EYES Guitarist Launch ELEGY GUITARWORKS

January 9, 2013

SOILWORK frontman Björn "Speed" Strid and EXES FOR EYES guitarist Dave Sheldon have launched a new Toronto, Ontario, Canada-based guitar company called Elegy Guitarworks, specializing in six-, seven- and eight-string guitars and four-, five-, six- and seven-string basses.

A posting on the company's Facebook page states: "Conceived the day the world as we knew it was supposed to end, Elegy Guitarworks was founded December 21, 2012. Born in the light of a new friendship, Elegy Guitarworks focuses on bringing professional quality instruments to the cost-conscious player. The Mayans were wrong... and this is their Elegy."

Elegy Guitarworks is hoping to land Canadian distribution and sell between 100 and 200 units annually.

Strid, who is Swedish, splits his time between Toronto, where he has a Canadian girlfriend, and Sweden.
